Wild times Continue through Wubin and Latham searching for elusive blooms and observing interpretive panels and sculptures. Perenjori is also a favourite spot for stargazing. Camel Soak to the east of town has beautiful rock formations and pools of water that attract wildlife. Stop in Mullewa for the 600m walk through the legacy of architect-priest Monsignor John Hawes. Return to Perth from Geraldton along the coast or head to wildflower towns such as Mingenew and Three Springs.

Spring is the best time to explore Western Australia’s abundance of wildflowers, so get set for a colourful drive. Blooming marvellous From roughly late August to October, WA bursts into bloom with “carpets” of everlastings through to the unique wreath flower. Head north to Dalwallinu, where wildflower trails abound. Many varieties of wattle can be seen, and orchids can usually be found in season at Mia Moon Reserve, Petrudor Rocks and Buntine Rock.
